AMUZical Child app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: AMUZical Child
First release : 20 Dec 2014
App size: 220.35 Mb
AMUZical Child provides a series of fun interactive music appreciation lessons for young children, based on animated stories that relate to beautiful classical music.
The lessons are based on a method developed during 25 years of teaching music to young children, called the "Hear, See, Feel" method.
The lovable Granny Gwendolyn character in her magical music shop guides the children in their listening and asks them questions, to help them be active participants in the lesson and not just passive viewers.
In each lesson the children hear a different piece of classical music. A story and animation are used to mirror the main elements in the music and also encourage the children to act out movements that they have seen, so that they physically feel what they are hearing.
At the end of each lesson the children get acquainted with the instruments that played the music.
Each lesson is approximately 10 minutes long. The lessons are designed so that children can view and enjoy them alone, in groups or together with an accompanying adult.
All lessons come with some background notes and explanations for the accompanying adult.
The app. comes loaded with one free full length lesson and previews of the others, which can easily be purchased and downloaded separately from within the app, using your normal Apple iTunes account .
Once downloaded, the lessons can be viewed offline and can be deleted and downloaded again free of charge (with no limits on the number of times).
The lessons are each around 100-130 MB in size.
